Hometown Hero Banners

Recognize your family members by displaying a Hometown Hero Banner in their honor. Applications are being taken thru March 31, 2026 and banners will be raised throughout the streets of Red Lion in April 2026 to honor our VFW's 100th anniversary and our nation's 250th birthday.

Pool Tournament

Rack 'em up-Join us for our final pool league on Saturday, March 28th. Sign-ups start at 12 noon and play begins at 1PM. There is a $10 entry fee and ALL skill levels are welcomed. There will be some Pickin' and Grinnin' entertainment from 12-3PM so come join the fun!

Upcoming Band

Rock Box will be playing at the Post on Saturday, April 11th from 7-11PM. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance during normal business hours. Doors open at 5PM with a limited menu being served. This event is open to the public so gather your neighbors and friends as we break out of the winter blues~

Chicken BBQ

We fired up the grills and will be back flippin' our delicious chicken bbq in 2026! The dates are: Apr25, May23, Jun20, Jul18, Aug22, and Sept19. Season tickets are available now for $54. Prepaid tickets are $10 each and Dinners the day of the BBQ are only $11. Mark your calendars now-looking forward to seeing you at our drive-thru....

Community Breakfast

Join us for a Community All You Can Eat Breakfast Buffet on Sunday, April 19th from 7-10AM. Cost is $8 for Adults and $3 for children ages 4-9; children 3 and under are FREE. Food selections include eggs, pancakes, sausage, potatoes, sausage gravy, biscuits and more. This event is Open to the Public so bring your family and friends!

Horseshoe Tournament

Ringer!....Join us for the first Horseshoe Tournament of the 2026 season on Saturday, April 18th. Registration begins at 12noon with a $10 entry fee. Players of all skill levels are welcomed....come join the fun and the warmer weather!

Auxiliary Meeting Night

Beginning in January 2026, the monthly Auxiliary meetings will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is scheduled for March 18th. The meetings will be at 6PM in the meeting room at the rear of the Post. We look forward to seeing all Auxiliary members at the meetings as we plan our 2026 calendar~

POST MEETING

The next Post meeting will be on Monday, April 13th, 2026 at 7:30PM. All Post members are also welcome to attend the Home Association meeting at 6:30PM the same evening.

Bar BINGO

Join us for Bar BINGO on Mondays! Everyone will receive 1 FREE BINGO card. BINGO calling starts at 5:30PM. It is FREE to play and all winners receive a prize. You may purchase an extra card for $1 each. Good Luck!

Military Food Share

A military food share is now available locally at the Church of the Open Door on East Market St, York. Distribution is the 4th Tuesday of every month. Proof of military service is required, such as a Military ID or VA Medical Card. Volunteers are welcomed also~ Serving those who have served for us!

VFW Post 1446 is a Smoke-Free Facility.
 
 
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

Join us for the VFW Day of Service as we restore and beautify the area around the war memorial at Fairmount Park in preparation for the annual community Memorial Day Service.

This event is open to the Public and all volunteers are encouraged to join with Post members as we decorate the memorial to our fallen hometown heroes.

A satirical reflection by Author/Artist Phil Fehrenbacher

Phil enlisted in the Army in 1965 where he served for years in Vietnam.  He became a graphic designer and has worked for the state of Oregon for 26 years.  He retired in 2003 and started the Cartoon "In-Country".  The cartoons reflect his experiences during his tour of duty in South Vietnam.


There is a new cartoon everyday.
