FELTON- Judy E. (Shore) Stokes, 80, died on Monday, November 13, 2023 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Terry L. Stokes to whom she was married for 43 years.


A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Olwiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with Certified Celebrant Amy Favorito officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. The tribute service will be livestreamed on HeffnerCare.com around 11 a.m. by searching Judy’s obituary. A time of gathering will be held after the services at 1 p.m. at the Red Lion VFW Post 1446, 815 S. Main St., Red Lion.


Born on February 28, 1943 in McConnellsburg, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Alma (Paylor) Shore. Judy was a keypunch operator and supervisor at York International for 30 years until her retirement.


Mrs. Stokes loved gardening, flowers and reading. She was a life member of the Red Lion VFW Post 1446 Auxiliary and a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post 791.


Along with her husband, Terry, Judy is survived by three daughters, Angela Bentzel of York, Joann Hoffheins and her husband, Steven of Thomasville and Jeanne Figdore and her husband, Troy of Woodstock, GA; stepdaughter, Michele Hubbard of Red Lion; eight grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; three step great great grandchildren; and two brothers in law, Wayne Stokes and his wife, Sandy and Don Stokes and his wife, Jane. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Chubb.
