Beverly E. (Stabley) Nowell

Red Lion - Beverly E. (Stabley) Nowell, 73, passed away January 22, 2022 at home with her family and friends by her side. She was the loving wife of the late Ron Nowell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

Born January 23, 1948 in York, she was a daughter of the late Donald W. and Romaine E. (Grim) Stabley. Mrs. Nowell was a Red Lion High School graduate of 1965, and was employed as an administrative assistant with numerous local trucking companies. She was always very active in the community, serving as one of the founders for the Red Lion Ambulance Club and ensuring that Windsor Borough days and summer activities were fun for all involved. Her patriotic spirit was always on display as she was a lifetime member of the Red Lion VFW Auxiliary, along with being a member of the Red Lion Legion and Elks Auxiliaries. In her free time, Mrs. Nowell enjoyed gambling, traveling, gardening, and watching the Phillies play.

Mrs. Nowell leaves behind a son, Donald W. Werner and his wife Stacy; a daughter, Roxann L. (Werner) Shearer and her husband Brad; a brother, Marty Stabley and his wife Jenny; a niece, Meredith Stabley; and a nephew, Will Stabley. Her beloved extended family and circle of friends will always remember her for her joyous whistling, hearty laugh, feisty personality and ability to make everyone feel cherished.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Red Lion VFW Post 1446, 815 S Main St., Red Lion, PA 17356 or to Hospice and Community Care 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17604.
